Industry Interaction is needed

• To fill the void of efficient industrial work force, it has become essential that engineering students are exposed to newer technologies and methodologies.

   
     Industry Institute Interaction which is the need of the hour has a two fold advantage. On one hand industries stand to benefit by getting their problems solved through consultancy assignments. On the other hand this interaction exposes the students to industrial atmosphere and subsequent placements. This interaction will have a great bearing on updating the engineering curriculum to meet the modern industrial needs. Participation of industries in student evaluation leads to progressive benefit to the institutes, as it provides technical guidance on skills and competency levels of students. Practicing technical professionals from industries will be able to help in identifying the gaps in technical skills, lacunae in training and the competency that is required in industries. Introduction of development funds in the form of scholarships stipends, insurance and even sponsorships by the industry proves to be effective in drawing the best talent from the institutions into the industry. Job fairs, placement activities and similar career orientation programmes lead to systematic recruitment of the right people for the right job.
