it is to inform that if all the branches of B.Tech are given
eligibility for M.Tech Computer Science, then the course level of M.Tech
has to be downgraded to basic levels only and also there is a comment
received from the NAAC and NBA committee who have already visited
certain departments of JNTU on various inspections intimated that there
is no difference between the B.Tech Computer Science and M.Tech Computer
Science as its almost equivalent. Master level course syllabus cannot
be offered if admission into the M.Tech Computer Science is given to all
the branches of B.Tech and to compete with the advance course of
Computer Science one should have the basic knowledge on computer science
 subjects.
Previously B.Tech. Computer Science were not offered by all the
affiliated colleges and the outcome was very rare, hence all other
branches of B.Tech and some M.Sc. courses were given eligibility to join
in the M.Tech Computer Science course and as of now all the affiliated
colleges are offering B.Tech (CS & IT) and also MCA courses and
there are number of Computer Science graduates coming out. Hence
the eligibility criteria for M.Tech Computer Science has to be
restricted for only B.Tech (CS/IT/) & MCA graduates only.
Further, the same eligibility criteria’s are maintained by the IIT’s and
NIT’s all over India and also as per the AICTE norms the candidate who
has completed his Undergraduate and Post Graduation in Computer Science
is only eligible for the Assistant Professor in Computer Science, hence
for getting admission in the M.Tech Computer Science should be a B.Tech.
in Computer Science. Hence admission into the M.Tech Computer Science
course cannot be offered to any other branches other than B.Tech (CS/IT)
and MCA students for the academic year 2012-13 so as to maintain the
standards of Masters level syllabus for these streams
This is for information and necessary action.
