Sub: - JNTUK – Examination Branch – Credits for promotion – Reg.

Number of students are coming to the University office with requests for promotion to next semester even with shortage of credits. This is hampering the work at the examination section. The students are saying that the Principals/Colleges are advising them to approach the University for promotion.

As per the regulation a student has to get at least 42 credits (50 % of 84 credits) up to II – I regular examination and at least 70 credits (50 % of 140 credits) up to III - I regular examination. The results of supplementary examinations are not required for obtaining the required credits as per the regulations.

All the Principals are requested to send the list of students who are detained in second year and third year, branch wise along with the credits obtained by the student so far to the undersigned on or before 29-06-2009 by 5.00 PM through fax. The lists of detained candidates may be displayed in the college notice boards.

All the Principals are requested to counsel the students not to approach the University for promotion when they have shortage of credits. Information about shortage of credits should be clarified to the students in the college it self.
